The CoE drives SAP strategy, governance, alignment with business goals, oversees end‑to‑end SAP processes, and manages risk, compliance, talent, and vendor relationships. About The Role The Consultant SAP – Production Planning is a functional and system specialist within the Global SAP CoE, responsible for designing, enhancing, and supporting SAP solutions in the Production Planning value stream. The role includes L1.5+ application support and process improvement. The “Make” stream covers manufacturing and shop floor execution, including production planning, capacity checks, production execution, quality management, and shop‑floor data acquisition. The SAP Make team uses SAP solutions to manage scheduling, materials, and quality control, enabling real‑time manufacturing and process optimization. The consultant must have solid knowledge of production planning and material requirements planning in SAP to align production with demand and translate business requirements into effective solutions. Responsibilities include solution design, customization, documentation, and user support. The Americas Production Planning team has ~4 FTE, reporting to the Manager SAP – Production Planning The Americas. Occasional travel to CoE hubs in France and Mexico is required. Key Accountabilities Support, business process improvement, and project delivery. Address and resolve support tasks (L1.5–L3 issues, BPIs, changes, bug fixes). Research and propose improvements to processes and system solutions. Gather and prioritize requirements with Global & Local Key Users. Provide estimates for delivery and refine requirements into SAP configurations and specifications. Prepare functional specifications and test cases for custom developments. Perform unit and integration testing, support UAT, and assist end users. Document changes, enhancements, and new processes; maintain records of support activities and configurations. Deliver training and materials for Key Users, promoting effective system utilization. Execute cutover and migration tasks, ensuring smooth handover to the wider team. Safeguard solution integrity and compliance with CoE standards and procedures. Stakeholder collaboration: align solution enhancements with the Product Manager and, when necessary, raise conflicts with core solution principles. Work with Solution Architects to ensure feasibility and integrity of solutions. Partner with Service Managers to ensure consistent practices and liaise with Development Factory, Basis, and Security teams. Collaborate with Project Managers on project tasks: workshops, blueprinting, design, configuration, development, testing, training, cutover, migration activities. Organizational Scope The SAP Consultants are part of the SAP Solutions department within the Global SAP CoE. SAP Solutions manages the full lifecycle of SAP applications across value streams (Finance, Sourcing, Manufacturing, etc.). The team designs, delivers, optimizes, and supports SAP‑enabled business solutions, ensuring global standards while addressing local requirements. It serves as the interface with business stakeholders, driving process improvement, innovation, and user experience. Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience 5+ years delivering SAP solutions, including configuration and custom development. (Essential) Fluent in English (verbal and written). (Essential) Additional language skills (Spanish or French). (Desirable) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). (Essential) Experience in SAP PP module. (Essential) Experience with MM, QM, and LO‑VC. (Essential) Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes. (Essential) Experience in process industries (Forest Products, Mills, Packaging, Mining, Chemicals). (Essential) Experience in SAP configuration, custom development, functional specifications, and test cases. (Essential) Track record of solution design, implementation, and support in complex/regulatory landscapes. (Essential) Knowledge of product lifecycle management, value streams, and SAP delivery best practices. (Desirable) Advanced analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills, focusing on compliance, risk, and data quality. (Essential) Proficiency in SAP Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Signavio, MS Office, and collaboration platforms. (Essential) Strong collaboration and communication skills with business, technical teams, and end users.
