We are looking for a highly motivated Costing Engineer for our team here in Queretaro. As a Cost Engineer, you will work in an international environment and support A2MAC1 and their customers by carrying out the costing assignments and studies entrusted to you: Cost analysis, Value analysis, Comparative cost analysis, Design-to-cost, Economic modeling of manufacturing processes. Tasks & Responsibilities Carry out cost studies: analyze input data, identify materials and manufacturing processes, cost them using internal tools and methodologies. Understand and explain how the product works (system, subsystem, component, function, etc.). Identify and recommend ways to optimize the cost of a system. Drive cost/performance benchmarking and value analysis studies. Build study reports according to required quality standards. Provide teammates with specific studies to contribute to the project insights. Customer interactions Take part of early need analysis. Contribute to provide customer with appropriate costing and/or cost management approach. Present study results according to customers' needs. Project Management Assess the workload and the timeline related to the technical perimeter of responsibility, and commit on them. Alert the project management about any risk on the technical perimeter, the timeline, or the project delivery quality. Knowledge Improvement Write and update technical content and guidelines. Improve internal tools, models and templates. Ensure technical watch on your specific competency area. Share knowledge and support teammates. Requirements Professional Background Graduate from an engineering school or hold an equivalent engineering master’s degree in mechanics, electronics, applied physics, automation, systems engineering, or manufacturing/production. 2+ years minimum experience in a major engineering company, as a systems/technical design/cost engineer. Knowledge of industrial manufacturing and assembly processes in power electronics, focusing on optimizing the cost of components such as inverters, DC/DC converters, and junction boxes for electric vehicles (EVs, 800V architectures and wider adoption of silicon carbide (SiC) technology). Develop detailed technical and tooling cost analyses to determine what a part should cost. Analyze power electronics components (e.g., SiC MOSFETs, capacitors, IGBT modules) for efficiency and cost‑effectiveness. Provide technical insights to purchasing departments to challenge supplier pricing and identify cost‑saving initiatives. Evaluate cost impacts of production methods, including PCB assembly, packaging, and thermal management technologies. Understand inverter/converter topologies, wide bandgap semiconductors (SiC, GaN), thermal management, and EMC requirements. Skills & Abilities Keen interest in industry and its products, innovation, and manufacturing technologies. Cultivate a culture of cost, as well as a spirit of analysis and synthesis. Result‑oriented with operational excellence. Work autonomously and as part of a team; act as a resource for less experienced colleagues. Be proactive, polyvalent, well‑organized, curious, and detail‑oriented. Fluent in English, written and oral (minimum B2).
