Business Development Manager, Mexico will deliver the In-Market strategic objectives through the effective implementation of business development and client development activities in the Firm's Mexico offices, and to ensure these activities and objectives are aligned with the overall Firm strategy. The role is an integral part of the Firm's BDMC team, focusing on client targeting, relationship management and business development activities that strengthen the Firm's profile in Mexico, business planning, monitoring progress against planned priorities, and developing its strategy for major client programming. Main responsibilities: The role requires a proactive and innovative approach to drive results at a senior level, with a particular focus on the following areas: Develop an in-depth understanding of the industry footprint and client base within Mexico to identify new business opportunities. Work with the Mexico offices lead partner and the industry and practice groups to develop cross selling opportunities, and to implement strategies to capture those opportunities. Work as part of a project team on strategic projects/marketing opportunities as identified by office management Act as a central point of contact for the Mexico offices to drive client development activities and strengthen our relationships with local clients. Gain and use market intelligence to lead business development strategies and prepare detailed plans to outpace competitors and maintain the Firm's profile in each market Client Development - Drive initiatives for local client relationships which have been identified as being of critical importance in Mexico Work closely with the relevant Client Relationship Partner(s), create, implement and drive targeted client business development and relationship management plans designed to maintain and increase revenue. Research information relevant to the targeted group of core clients and their businesses, identify issues likely to impact upon the clients' requirements for legal services and recommend business development activities likely to capitalize on such requirements Work with relevant partners, develop and maintain close relationships with individual representatives of the targeted group of core clients. Use those client interactions, identify any issue likely to be relevant from a business development perspective Work with the North America Associate Director, Client Development, ensure that targeted core clients benefit from a client feedback review. Use the intelligence gained during such reviews, work to address any issues identified with service delivery and follow up on any request for further information about the Firm’s capabilities Support any global or regional initiatives, such as the Global Client Program, Mexico Local Champion Client Program, applicable to the core clients in Mexico Lateral integration and support – Actively support lateral partners in the Mexico offices with developing, as well as implementing, the marketing, client and business development aspects of their business Firm Positioning and Events – Set the strategy for sponsorships and events undertaken by the Mexico offices and monitors their execution and return on investment. Along with other members of the Mexico BD team, coordinate all deliverables associated with office-identified key sponsorships. Leverage the Firm's involvement to strengthen client relationships, and create client and attorney connections across the organizations Budget Management – Ensure that all business development initiatives are effectively coordinated to extract maximum return on investment Proposals - Work with the North America Proposals team, provide input into the development of proposals including collecting relevant content such as practice area descriptions and case lists Ability to interpret and leverage client, financial and market intelligence to design and drive business and client development strategies, using a data-driven approach supported by internal dashboards and external data source Other duties as assigned to develop and drive North America strategy Skills and experience: A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in marketing, communications, marketing, business, or related field Six or more years' experience in a marketing and/or business development role, preferably in a professional services environment Well-developed and sophisticated organization, communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to relate to and gain the confidence of people at all levels within an organization, as well as an ability to build strong relationships and work in a collaborative environment Able to interpret and leverage client, financial and market intelligence to design and drive business and client development strategies, using a data-driven approach supported by internal dashboards and external data sources. Excellent oral and written communication skills Able to effectively coordinate competing priorities Strong judgment and ability to suggest well-reasoned independent recommendations and ideas A good, developed practical understanding of marketing and communications Self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision Comfortable working across multiple cultures and time zones in a matrix organization A high level of attention to detail High level of energy and persistence, and understanding of the importance of delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external clients Strong technical skills and familiar with internet and web-based platforms Reports to: Associate Director, Client Development, NA Travel requirements: Flexibility to travel frequently among the five offices in Mexico and to internal and client meetings, as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
