Overview The Senior Manager, Supplier Development, is responsible for leading a high-performing team that evaluates and develops key suppliers to ensure they meet Vertiv’s standards for on-time delivery, cost, and continuous improvement. This team acts as a technical liaison between Vertiv Procurement and its suppliers, facilitating supplier performance improvement and enabling mutual business growth for Vertiv and the suppliers. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Supplier Development Engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability. Implement Supplier Development management processes, including evaluation, corrective actions, and performance monitoring, considering supplies’ capability, capacity, flexibility, quality, and operating system. Develop and execute supplier development strategies to ensure optimal on-time delivery and delivery flexibility performance. Build strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular assessments and audits to drive continuous improvement and compliance with company standards. Collaborate internally within Procurement with category management, supplier performance, strategic sourcing, project management, and cross-functionally with supplier quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to align supplier capabilities with business needs. Develop and implement supplier world-class process checklists (e.g., continuous improvement operating system, customer-facing KPIs) and drive suppliers towards a continuous improvement environment. Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier performance, delivery flexibility, and risk management. Oversee key supplier risk assessments and mitigation activities to ensure supply chain continuity. Drive to strengthen the supply relationship between suppliers and Vertiv plants. Support sourcing and procurement teams in supplier selection and onboarding processes. Monitor supplier performance metrics and present findings and improvement action plans to leadership. Lead supplier development projects and initiatives to support business objectives. Provide technical guidance and training to suppliers on company standards, Lean operating system and overall best practices. Represent the supplier development function in executive meetings and provide strategic recommendations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field. MBA preferred 10-12+ years’ experience in supplier development, industrial / manufacturing engineering or supplier quality 5+ years of experience leading a successful team Proven experience driving suppliers' improvement strategies is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, capacity planning, and quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.). Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is highly preferred Experience with supplier audits, process validation, and root cause analysis. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and project management skills. Ability to travel flexibly and work onsite at supplier sites is necessary. Must be proficient in MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Power BI, Microsoft Project, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail Ability to perform under pressure in a very fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environment Experience documenting/designing business processes, performing business analysis, and requirements definition English proficiency required Physical & Environmental Demands NA Time Travel Required 50% About The Team Work Authorization No calls or agencies please.
