About the Role VelaFi is looking for an HR Business Partner to support our growing LATAM team during a key stage of regional expansion. This role will partner closely with managers and employees across the region to strengthen organizational effectiveness, support talent initiatives, and help scale people's processes in a fast-paced international environment. The ideal candidate combines strong business partnership skills with operational execution and is comfortable working across performance management, organizational structure, compensation analysis, employee engagement, recruiting, workforce planning, and people operations. This is a highly hands-on role. We are looking for someone proactive, resourceful, and capable of operating independently while managing multiple priorities across countries and teams. This role will work collaboratively with the HR Manager LATAM and cross-functional leadership teams to help improve employee experience, organizational clarity, and long-term team scalability. What You’ll Own Business Partnership & Organizational Support Partner with managers across LATAM to support organizational effectiveness and team development. Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and team structure. Support initiatives related to employee engagement, retention, and career development. Help improve role clarity, accountability, and communication across teams. Compensation & Talent Planning Support compensation benchmarking and market analysis across LATAM markets. Assist with compensation review cycles and talent retention initiatives. Help define salary bands, compensation structures, and organizational leveling frameworks. Contribute to workforce planning and organizational growth strategies. Recruiting & Talent Support Support recruiting processes and hiring coordination across LATAM roles. Partner with hiring managers on candidate evaluation and hiring decisions. Assist with onboarding and employee integration processes. Help ensure hiring processes remain organized, efficient, and scalable. Performance & People Programs Help implement and improve performance management processes. Support calibration, feedback, and employee development initiatives. Partner with leadership in succession planning and talent development efforts. HR Operations & Process Improvement Help optimize onboarding, employee lifecycle, and HR operational processes. Create and improve HR processes, templates, documentation, and internal workflows across LATAM. Support the development of foundational HR policies, procedures, guidelines, and organizational standards. Build scalable HR documentation and operational frameworks for a growing international organization. Standardize onboarding, employee lifecycle, and people operations processes across the region. Collaborate cross-functionally with recruiting, finance, operations, and leadership teams. Support HR reporting, analytics, and documentation initiatives. Contribute to building scalable HR frameworks suitable for a high-growth international company. What We’re Looking For Must Have 5+ years of experience in HRBP, People Operations, Organizational Development, Recruiting, or related HR functions. Strong knowledge of LATAM labor laws and regional HR practices. Experience supporting managers and teams in fast-growing or international environments. Strong understanding of compensation analysis, employee development, and organizational support. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Hands-on mentality with strong execution skills. Experience building or improving HR processes, documentation, policies, and operational structures. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environments with evolving priorities. Fluent English and Spanish. Nice to Have Experience in fintech, payments, technology, or startup environments. Experience supporting distributed or international teams. Familiarity with HR systems, people analytics, or compensation benchmarking tools. Exposure to organizational design or scaling initiatives across LATAM.
