Production Supervisor – Automotive Coatings Location: Tepexpan, State of Mexico Area: Production / Packaging – Automotive Business Unit The Production Supervisor leads and ensures the operational efficiency of the automotive coatings packaging process within a solvent-based manufacturing environment. You will operate in restricted and classified explosive areas, requiring strict adherence to safety and quality standards. You will supervise one production shift within a three-shift operation, coordinating teams of operators to safely and efficiently execute packaging activities while meeting daily production, cost, quality, and delivery objectives. The Production Supervisor plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, cross-functional coordination, and effective people leadership in a highly regulated automotive. You will report to the Production Head. You will be an onsite role, located in Tepexpan State of Mexico. Key Responsibilities Lead, plan, and supervise daily packaging operations to ensure compliance with the production schedule, quality standards, and safety requirements. Manage and coordinate packaging lines, ensuring correct use, setup, and operation of filling and packaging equipment under established procedures and parameters. Execute effective handover meetings between shifts, ensuring of priorities, pending activities, and production status. Communicate shift priorities to operators and auxiliary personnel, ensuring understanding on materials, sequencing, and safety conditions. Verify availability and approval of raw materials and packaging materials, confirming correct transactions and requests through Oracle ERP. Execute packaging sequences and operational strategies according to the assigned shift to, and on-time delivery. Manage production Goals related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity, providing updates and corrective actions. Support maintenance activities, quality requirements, and related to equipment and processes. Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to improve processes, reduce waste, minimize costs, and improve cycle times. Lead teams, encouraging teamwork, accountability, safety awareness, and a positive work environment. Ensure strict compliance with industrial safety standards, sustainability practices, Mexican Official Standards (NOMs), and corporate policies. Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse (finished goods and packaging materials), suppliers, and other team members. Support training projects, operational discipline, and standard work to ensure execution across shifts. Host and guide internal and external visitors, including foreign team members, explaining processes and conducting plant tours in English. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar supervisory role within the chemical, coatings, paints, or related manufacturing industry. Experience with solvent-based operations in safety-critical or hazardous environments. Experience leading large production teams (17–22 direct reports per shift). Knowledge of automotive quality and operational standards, including ISO 9001 and preferably IATF. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and tools. Experience managing Indicators related to production, quality, cost, and maintenance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel (intermediate level). Working knowledge of ERP systems like Oracle. Intermediate level of English, with the ability to explain processes and work with international visitors. Availability and flexibility to rotate shifts (three shifts Monday to Friday; first and second shift on Saturdays). High safety orientation, accountability, and ability to work in high‑pressure operational environments.
