The Role As a Mainframe Coupling Facility Implementation at Kyndryl, you’ll be a subject matter expert responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing Coupling Facility (CF) environments within enterprise IBM mainframe infrastructures. In this role, you will ensure high availability, resilience, and performance for mission‑critical systems that support complex business operations. You will lead the implementation and ongoing administration of Coupling Facility environments, working closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration with GDPS IBM mainframe technologies. Your expertise will help strengthen system stability, improve recovery capabilities, and drive continuous improvement. As a senior engineer, you will also play a key role in mentoring team members, promoting best practices, and advancing automation and standardization across mainframe platforms at Kyndryl. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation, configuration, and administration of IBM mainframe Coupling Facility Environment. Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability through continuous optimization of CF configurations. Oversee integration and compliance with GDPS IBM mainframe technologies to support resilience and recovery objectives. Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across mainframe environments. Lead incident response and major recovery activities related to Coupling Facility and mainframe infrastructure. Who You Are You’re good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. Required Skills and Experience 5+ years of experience in IBM mainframe environments with deep expertise in Coupling Facility implementation and administration. Proven experience leading incident management, major recovery activities, and driving automation and standardization initiatives. Demonstrated subject‑matter expertise in at least one mainframe platform. Experience mentoring technical teams and leading cross‑functional projects. Preferred Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Intermediate English proficiency for technical documentation, global collaboration, and incident communication. Advanced knowledge of GDPR IBM Mainframe technologies. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as JCL, Unix shell, PowerShell, or SQL.
