Senior Product Engineer Job Summary Provides advanced technical leadership and ownership of assigned products, customer accounts, and engineering initiatives throughout the product lifecycle. Responsible for driving engineering execution, product support, engineering changes, NPI activities, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. Serves as the primary technical focal point for assigned programs while providing technical guidance and support to Product Engineers, Associate Product Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and cross‑functional teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Own the technical performance and support strategy of assigned products, programs, or customer accounts. Analyze and evaluate Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), customer requests, and product modifications to determine technical, operational, inventory, cost, and quality impacts. Lead implementation of engineering changes and coordinate cross‑functional execution plans to ensure timely and effective deployment. Monitor engineering change metrics, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective actions to achieve established business objectives. Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customers regarding product support, engineering changes, technical escalations, and product lifecycle activities. Lead regular customer reviews related to engineering changes, technical issues, product performance, and project status. Analyze, maintain, and troubleshoot Bills of Materials (BOM), Approved Manufacturer Lists (AML), product structures, and configuration management systems. Support and lead New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfer, qualification, validation, and product lifecycle management activities. Investigate and resolve complex product, manufacturing, test, component, and process‑related issues. Lead structured problem‑solving activities utilizing methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Root Cause Analysis techniques. Coordinate engineering activities across Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, and Operations teams. Participate as technical representative during customer audits, internal audits, and third‑party audits, ensuring readiness and compliance with applicable requirements. Support development and execution of risk assessments, validation plans, containment activities, and corrective action plans. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, yield, cost reduction, productivity improvements, and process optimization. Provide technical coaching, guidance, and day‑to‑day support to Product Engineers, Associate Product Engineers, Interns, and Product Engineering Technicians. Track engineering action items, project milestones, and technical deliverables to ensure successful execution. Support business analytics, engineering metrics, and operational reviews to identify opportunities for improvement. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Job Qualifications Knowledge Requirements Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, engineering change management, and product lifecycle management. Advanced understanding of Bills of Materials (BOM), Approved Manufacturer Lists (AML), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and configuration management principles. Strong knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, validation methodologies, and qualification processes. Knowledge of quality systems, audit requirements, and compliance standards within manufacturing environments. Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions. Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Strong project coordination and execution capabilities. Ability to effectively prioritize multiple assignments in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and decision‑making skills. Strong customer‑facing communication and presentation skills. Ability to influence and coordinate cross‑functional teams without direct reporting authority. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, SAP, PLM systems, business reporting tools, and engineering databases. Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required. Minimum 5‑8 years of experience in Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, NPI Engineering, or related engineering disciplines. Experience supporting electronics manufacturing environments and customer‑facing programs required. Demonstrated experience leading engineering changes, product qualifications, NPI activities, product transfers, and technical escalations. Experience coordinating cross‑functional engineering activities and driving technical issue resolution. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Core Tools, APQP, PFMEA, DFMEA, or equivalent experience preferred. Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Administration preferred.
