ADVANCE QUALITY ENGINEER IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY The Advanced Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability for Gentherm’s products. Will have the responsibility to address all documents necessary for launch projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implement advanced quality planning methodologies to proactively identify and address potential quality issues in the product development phase. Collaborate with Program Management, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to integrate quality considerations into the design and production processes. Implement tools and methodologies to identify, analyze, and prioritize risks throughout the product development and manufacturing processes. Support the release of DV, and PV, and start of production (SOP) feasibility studies. Develop, implement, coordinate, and continuously improve safe launch quality planning in cooperation with Operations. Support problem‑solving processes within the APQP phases ensuring proper and timely customer communication. Work with the Management System (MS)/Audit team to ensure all APQP‑related processes meet Quality standards (IATF 16949) and CSR. This included the updates or new requirements involved on AIAG / VDA manuals (e.g. Core Tools, CQIs, Product Audits, etc.). Ensure Advanced / Process Quality participation in the PFMEA development for early phases. Support the definition and classification of product and process significant/critical characteristics (SC/CC) for prototype, pre‑production, and production + 90 days. Ensure the Safe Launch process for SOP + 90 days in situ and deployment of KPIs for the core team involved. Lead the implementation of Control Plans of each development phase such as: Prototype , Pre Launch, Safe Launch and Production (NOTE: Gentherm utilizes and needs to improve Plato E1NS software usage) Utilize data analytics and statistical methods (e.g., Cp, Cpk Pp, Ppk) to analyze quality trends, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Ensure measurement system analysis (MSA) studies needed for the evaluation and measurement techniques indicated in the control plan for customer approval. Manage the execution of variable/attribute GR&R studies for destructive and no‑destructive test (e.g. checking fixtures, tensile machines, visual inspections, etc.) Support to plant laboratories to develop the resources requirements to maintain the new measurement systems implemented to each plant for the product / process release. Support on lay out process development to stablish the areas for Boundary samples, Gages, Testing machines or another measurement/evaluation system needed to release the product / process. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. 5 years of relevant professional experience Several years of experience in quality department. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, industry standards, and automotive regulations. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a data‑driven approach to decision‑making. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, Quality Engineer, are a plus.
