Role Overview The Category Buyer reports to the Purchasing Leader and oversees MRO and indirect procurement activities, including sourcing, contract management, purchase order management, and cost savings initiatives for the Muzquiz site and other assigned areas. Key Responsibilities Manage the transactional procurement process from requisition to purchase order closure, ensuring timely order placement and delivery follow‑up. Maintain procurement performance metrics and support uninterrupted operations. Resolve operational issues proactively with suppliers and internal customers, building trust‑based, service‑oriented relationships. Align stakeholders and provide internal support necessary for successful project implementation. Conduct negotiations, manage supplier selection, and review supplier performance to ensure contract compliance and customer satisfaction. Implement sourcing projects for standardization, preferred supplier utilization, cost savings, and operational efficiencies. Research and analyze appointment data, select or recommend providers, and produce vendor analysis and reporting. Develop RFI/RFP/RFQ documentation for new and existing products and services. Obtain goods and services cost‑effectively while ensuring consistent quality, delivery, and project priority. Initiate and coordinate specific cost‑reduction programs, delivering cost savings targets. Assist with other or specific projects as needed. Develop and execute strategic sourcing activities for allocated spend categories, leveraging industry best practices, commodity expertise, and global partnerships. Qualifications University degree. Experience in managing projects. Minimum 3 years purchasing experience, including negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing processes. Essential command of English; strong Spanish language skills (90%). Analytical capacity and computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferably experience working on multiple industry sites.
