Coordinate all datum schemes (locator logic) and assembly sequences required for 2D or 3D modeling. Active participation in OEM/internal PDTs/Dimensional Review meetings. Perform variation reduction and dimensional sensitivity studies and document. Develops locator strategy documents. Monitor and control the dimensional objective documents. Identify Critical Characteristics and document on drawings, based on analytical results. Perform comparison studies of measured data versus objectives and GD&T specification MCR’s/Nom Shift/Tol Relief. Research and analyze data such as RSS, specifications, component tooling tolerances to determine design feasibility. Define and document quality goals (dimensional and functional) by developing quality objective targets on key product criteria. Check and approve final released GD&T components and assembly drawings Measurement point and fixture certification data generation. Responsible for obtaining dimensional requirements for interfacing parts to develop system level analyses. Purchased parts – responsible to provide dimensional approval for tool texturing authorization. Participate in fit validation activities, root cause and define solutions. Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, tooling, CAE, quality, manufacturing. Develop and maintain timing plans as it pertains to dimensional engineering.
