The Process Engineer is responsible for the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, reliable, and high-quality production. This role will work closely with the assembly area, New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, and cross-functional departments to analyze, improve, and implement process changes. The focus will be on reducing quality issues, enhancing productivity, improving safety and ergonomics, and supporting cost-reduction initiatives. Responsibilities Design and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, capacity, and cost-effectiveness. Analyze process flows and equipment utilization, identifying and eliminating efficiencies and bottlenecks. Conduct capacity modeling and cost analysis to support process improvements. Lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies. Implement error-proofing solutions (e.g., poka-yoke) to reduce defects and enhance quality. Identify areas for waste reduction and drive initiatives to improve throughput and resource utilization. Use engineering tools (e.g., mathematical modeling, process simulation, statistical analysis) to analyze and refine manufacturing processes. Design new processes or refine existing ones to eliminate non-value-added activities and improve efficiency. Analyze and optimize workflow layouts and equipment placement to maximize space utilization and improve process efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design ergonomic workstations that improve productivity and safety. Lead and participate in problem-solving teams to resolve production issues, implementing root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve process reliability. Develop and implement corrective actions to address quality, safety, and efficiency concerns within the manufacturing processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with JIT, Poka Yoke, Kanban, Cell Layout, and other lean manufacturing principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including knowledge of probability, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling. Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to process optimization scenarios. Expertise in process mapping, flow chart creation, and using problem-solving methodologies like 8D and root cause analysis. Knowledge of statistical methods, design of experiments, and process failure mode analysis (PFMEA). Ability to interpret complex instructions (written, oral, or diagrammatic) and adapt them to practical applications in process engineering. Proven experience in leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional departments. Knowledge of ESD program management and process transfer methods is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
