Job Overview BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is looking for a dynamic, results‑driven individual to join as an Assy Process Engineer. The role provides technical support in quality and manufacturing engineering for production areas and product launch activities, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, cost and environmental requirements are met or exceeded. Key Responsibilities Identify and implement process improvements with manufacturing teams to reduce cost, enhance quality and maximize customer satisfaction. Ensure maximum safety, quality, capacity and utilization of manufacturing/processing equipment and special processes. Research and implement best‑practice manufacturing and processing methods. Introduce new products and modifications to existing ones, collaborating with purchasing and suppliers to define specifications and evaluate quality standards. Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow; design equipment layouts and workspace to achieve maximum efficiency. Participate in product design reviews and contribute manufacturing‑oriented ideas and lessons learned. Develop and maintain effective quality control and process systems. Coordinate the purchase and implementation of new equipment and processes, tracking tooling and approval expenditures. Assist in the design and construction of manufacturing/assembly/processing equipment and processes. Solve problems using robust methodologies such as 8D, PDCA, A3, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys, including statistical problem‑solving techniques. Support diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, calibrations and operational procedures as needed. Coordinate and conduct special studies, Design of Experiments (DOE) and analysis. Represent BorgWarner in related matters and prepare and deliver presentations to customers, employees and management. Coordinate and manage external contractor projects. Implement action plans for quality issues and warranty reduction projects. Participate in the development of APQP documentation, maintaining updated process documentation (FMEA, flow diagrams, process sheets, tooling lists, drawings, instructions, LOTO, etc.). Implement action plans from Statistical Process Control workshops and Kaizen events. Close actions from the Improvement Ideas System and ensure implementation of FMEA actions. Use a team‑based approach to achieve objectives (CPK, OEE, FTP, quality incidents, etc.), with emphasis on production teams. Provide technical leadership, training and support to manufacturing teams and peers. Collaborate with Technical Centers in developing new technologies and products. Participate in prototype development and assembly with Engineering, including prototype control plans and work instructions. Coordinate with machinery subcontractors to ensure personnel safety during industrialization and initial sample production. Ensure compliance with capital project (CAPEX) and expense budgets. Work jointly with IT to ensure cybersecurity protocols and antivirus strategies. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing). Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry or global manufacturing companies. Technical knowledge: strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems; program management experience; proficiency in lean manufacturing tools and techniques; experience in high‑volume automated manufacturing is a plus. Other requirements: proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PowerBI, Minitab, Six Sigma, Agile and PLCs. English requirement: conversational / business level.
