THE ROLE We are seeking a Costing Manager - Furniture to join our growing team. RESPONSIBILITIES Cost & Quotation Analysis: Conduct detailed cost breakdowns and “should cost” modeling for all primary furniture materials (e.g., raw steel, engineered wood products, various plastics, textiles, foams, and packaging materials). Monitor global commodity markets (metals, lumber, petrochemicals, cotton) and economic indicators to anticipate cost fluctuations and proactively inform sourcing strategies. Analyze supplier quotes, identify cost drivers, and challenge pricing to ensure competitiveness and alignment with target costs. Establish and track key material cost performance indicators (KPIs). Strategic Cost Saving: Proactively identify, develop, and implement material cost reduction projects (e.g., VAVE - Value Analysis/Value Engineering) without compromising quality or performance. Work closely with Engineering/R&D teams to evaluate alternative materials and designs that offer cost advantages. Lead cross-functional teams to execute material productivity and savings initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience in Cost Analysis, Materials Management or Procurement, specifically within the Furniture industry. Strong professional network and/or knowledge of major players in the raw material market. Expertise in analyzing and mitigating price volatility in the market and managing commodity risk. Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships across multiple geographies. Demonstrated success in achieving cost reduction and process optimization goals. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product development and sourcing. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. WHY QUINCE?
