The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for establishing, developing, and positioning the supply base to support a high service level. This position will play a critical role in achieving cost containment, inventory, and supplier performance goals. Teamwork within the function and with related functions is necessary to ensure achievement of overall goals. Responsibilities Drive key initiatives to achieve best total cost structure, quality, lead-time, payment terms and service by developing long‑term supplier relationships and agreements. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives with end‑to‑end ownership of initiatives. Actively work with transitions departments and NPI teams in the incumbent AMETEK HKP locations to determine and address key supply base needs. Develop and manage Requests for Proposal, Requests for Quotation and Requests for Information process in conjunction with team members. Participate and when necessary lead supplier negotiations when required by Materials Manager or Buyers. Develop an understanding of critical commodities and the associated market conditions, processes, suppliers, cost drivers, etc. Develop suppliers’ capabilities to improve quality, delivery, and cost structure. In conjunction with site teams, drive projects to assure our supply base is getting the right production load; establish supply base reduction plans or new supplier qualification plans as appropriate. Drive Supplier Assessment process with all site Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams; develop grow/maintain/exit strategies for suppliers of key commodities. Provide guidance for implementation of Supplier Managed Inventory programs such as consignment and stock holding, and other functional and company‑wide process improvements. Compile and publish supplier performance metrics and corrective action for KPI metrics such as PPV, Supplier OTD and Quality, Inventory. Develop standardized sourcing and supply chain procedures and practices. Manage supplier compliance documentation and related activities. Strong experience to write, negotiate, and administer Long Term Agreements (LTA’s). Cost Savings and Value Creation: Identify cost‑saving opportunities through strategic sourcing initiatives, process improvements, and supplier partnerships. Drive initiatives to improve supply chain sustainability and resilience. Data Analysis and Reporting – utilize data analytics to monitor spend, supplier performance and market conditions, and prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on sourcing performance and cost savings. Experience and Qualification Requirements Bachelor’s Degree required. 5+ years in sourcing or purchasing. Experience in a manufacturing environment required; lean manufacturing, i.e. internal & supplier Kanban implementation. Experience working with Oracle or similar ERP system required. Strong computer skills are a must, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have a background leading initiatives in a Purchasing / Supply Chain organization in a manufacturing environment. Fundamental understanding of Purchasing and Supply Chain concepts. Demonstrated skill in negotiations, supplier management and long term agreement drafting. Experience in purchase of technical commodities and implementation of best practices. Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, interpersonal skills, well developed problem solving skills, solid organizational skills, and the demonstrated ability to be self‑directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization. Knowledge of ISO9000 and CTPAT compliance requirements. Fully bilingual, English/Spanish preferred. Experience, proper documentation and availability to travel in different countries visiting suppliers, mainly in Mexico, USA and Canada. #J-18808-Ljbffr
