Overview Electromechanical Inspector position at SQA Services to ensure the quality, compliance, and integrity of electromechanical components and assemblies. The role involves on‑site inspections, verification of documentation, and ensuring adherence to applicable standards, drawings, and specifications for a contract of 3–6 months (5 days a week, 4–8 hours a day). Key Responsibilities Incoming inspection of products or services supplied by external providers (e.g., nickel plating). In‑process and final inspection of critical features such as witness inspections. Compilation of final inspection sign‑off sheets and report packages. Verification that inspection equipment is capable of detecting defects. Verification that inspection methodology meets drawing intent. Audit and validate execution of the inspection plan. Provide weekly reports of manufacturing sites' ramp progress, equipment quality performance, and delivery details by data center site. Conduct periodic quality audits of the supplier's factory and report results. Drive closure of findings identified as non‑conformances. Ensure supplier quality control system documents findings. Provide customer witness for test scripts, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all equipment. Validate equipment is acceptable with no issues and compliant with Level1 commissioning process (Red/Orange tags) before shipment to the data center. Represent Google as on‑site support. Inspection of rivets and mechanical assemblies. Perform visual inspection (VT) of structural welds according to AWS D1.1 standards; identify weld discontinuities and verify weld quality, profiles, and workmanship. Inspect fillet, groove, CJP, and PJP welds to ensure compliance with fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and acceptance criteria. Review welding documentation—including WPSs, welder qualifications, continuity records, and process compliance—to ensure all inspection requirements are followed. Read diagrams for wiring assembly. Required Qualifications Experience inspecting electronic components or mechanical systems. Proficiency in dimensional inspection of precision tolerance parts. Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with inspection tools. Ability to understand and interpret complex GD&T requirements and validate complex assemblies. High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training in welding inspection preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of structural welding inspection experience preferred. Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies. Technical Knowledge AWS D1.1 requirements. AWS B1.11 visual inspection practices. Weld symbols and fabrication drawings. Welding processes: FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW (preferred). Structural steel fabrication practices. Weld gauges and inspection tools. Weld discontinuities and workmanship evaluation. Preferred Qualifications 8+ years experience inspecting electromechanical systems. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). VT LevelII certification. NDE certifications (MT/PT preferred). OSHA safety training. Structural steel fabrication experience. Additional Requirements This position requires access to ITAR‑controlled technical data and/or defense articles; therefore, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
