Position Overview EH&S Engineer (Temporary, 6 months) – located in Juarez, North Site. Reporting to the EHS Manager, the role focuses on maintaining and improving safety and environmental compliance across the site. Responsibilities Consult with all departments on equipment design and safety programs. Review plans and specifications for new machinery to confirm safety requirements. Conduct site tours to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities, identifying hazards and ensuring regulatory compliance. Define requirements for safety clothing and devices; design, build, install, or oversee installation of safety devices on machinery. Conduct or coordinate safety training and educate workers on emergency procedures, safety policies, laws and practices. Investigate industrial accidents, minimize recurrence and prepare accident reports. Perform air quality tests for harmful gases and vapors. Identify health and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions. Serve as internal consultant on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and fire and chemical safety matters. Audit business units for compliance. Interface with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and related workplace health and safety matters. Compile and submit safety reports. Administer workers' compensation, OSHA 2000 log and return-to-work program. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience. Experience in EH&S or a related position. Knowledge of ISO 14001, 45000, OHSAS 18000. Intermediate English communication skills. Experience in sustainability, EH&S and related regulations, codes, and guidelines. Preferred background in renewable energy, water conservation and sustainability activities within a manufacturing environment. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety guidelines, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
