This full‑time position offers benefits. Great matching candidates will have eight or more years of engineering experience in turbomachinery analysis and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. In this job, you will lead multiple projects, moving evaluations from request to completion. The candidate will communicate effectively with team members and management, and will prepare verbal and written documents including plans, reports, and presentations. Job Duties Provide technical leadership for junior members of the engineering team Perform, review and mentor activities that include mechanical analysis, gas turbine engine component design, hand calculations, engineering documentation composition, component durability assessment, and engine manufacturing / build and test Implement product definition criteria in accordance with requirements for commercial attributes associated with producibility/manufacturability of the component Oversee and mentor the design of components and systems for turbomachinery technology, mainly including hardware such as brackets, ducts, tubes, hoses, and harnesses Manage and maintain projects in priority status as assigned by program management Maintain, report, and communicate project status and progress to internal program management team and customers Monitor progress against project schedule and resolve problems to ensure that customer project milestones are met Organize and maintain existing engineering records Perform other duties as required Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Eight or more years of engineering experience in the field of gas turbine engines or turbomachinery, specialty in engine externals design and/or analysis Knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM) Experience using structural and simulation analysis systems, ANSYS Experience with any of the following: engine externals design/analysis (fans, compressors, compressor wheels, compressor blades, compressor vanes, combustors, turbine wheels, turbine blades, turbine vanes, cases/housings, gears and gearboxes or tooling) Ability to write technical reports and correspondence, including customer reports Effective presentation skills in one‑on‑one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees Ability to coordinate and lead in a team environment Fluency in English and Spanish (conversational and written) Preferred Qualifications & Skills Prior GE experience Experience using ANSYS classic and Workbench Experience with TeamCenter Knowledge of other FEA software EOE/F/M/Disability/Veterans #J-18808-Ljbffr
