Covia is looking for a Safety & Health Coordinator who will positively impact our Mexico operation based in our Obispado corporate office located in Monterrey, Nuevo León. As a Safety & Health Coordinator , you will have the opportunity to coordinate, implement, and maintain the plant’s Safety & Health programs in alignment with Covia’s Corporate Safety & Health Manual, internal policies, and applicable Mexican regulations. Key Accountabilities Collaborate in the design, implementation, and improvement of Safety & Health programs, procedures, and management systems for mining and industrial operations. Provide technical support and guidance to plant Safety & Health teams in the implementation of programs, follow-up of action plans, and KPI tracking. Ensure alignment with national and international Safety & Health standards, including NOM-STPS, OSHA, MSHA, ISO 14001, and Covia’s internal requirements. Participate in internal audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, identifying gaps and supporting corrective actions. Conduct risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analysis / Job Safety Analysis, to identify and control workplace hazards. Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up. Support occupational hygiene programs, including respirable dust, noise monitoring, and respiratory protection. Develop and deliver Safety & Health training as an internal instructor. Analyze Safety & Health data and KPIs using Excel to support reporting and decision-making. Maintain effective communication with plant teams and corporate stakeholders, with availability to travel as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial safety, occupational health, or EHS roles within manufacturing, mining, industrial operations, or similar environments. Strong knowledge of Mexican safety and health regulations, including STPS requirements, applicable NOMs, IMSS occupational risk processes, and Civil Protection requirements. Intermediate English proficiency preferred. Strong planning, organization, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
