Job Overview Senior Welding & Assembly Process Quality Engineer – responsible for developing robust welding and assembly processes to support regular operations, new product development, and productivity initiatives. Responsibilities Design and develop complex welding and assembly processes, performing and mentoring process controls. Define specifications, approval protocols, runoff, and installation requirements for capital equipment related to welding. Apply advanced problem‑solving tools (6‑Sigma, DOE, A3, 9‑Step, 5‑Why) to determine root causes. Develop, maintain, and improve welding programs through deep analysis of critical dimensions and tolerancing. Design/select tools and fixtures; define inspection processes and quality certifications based on welding processes. Update and implement certification programs for operators and setups in accordance with international welding standards (AWS). Coordinate administrative tasks for project implementation: purchase orders and follow‑up for capital equipment, fixtures, and tools. Measure, analyze, and improve key performance indicators such as scrap, first pass yield, DPU, downtime, and efficiency. Develop and update control plans, PFMEAs, JSAs, and ergonomic studies related to welding and assembly. Collaborate on OPEX initiatives such as VSAs, RIEs, and Gemba walks. Analyze and address customer CARs; lead PQA audits and set‑up teams for welding and assembly operations. Develop and document employee engagement strategies based on surveys. Qualifications BSc degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Product Engineering, Quality, or related field. 7–10 years of experience as a Manufacturing/Process/Quality Engineer focused on welding and assembly processes. Strong project and team management skills. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, GD&T, MTBF, TPM, and related tools (MiniTab, AutoCAD). Proficiency in English (minimum 90%).
