Responsible for supporting the design, fabrication and inspection of pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC). This role bridges engineering and manufacturing by providing technical guidance on code compliance, design calculations and fabrication practices. This is a hands‑on role requiring a strong understanding of ASME code requirements and the ability to apply engineering principles in a heavy fabrication environment. Minimum Qualifications Must be based in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field and 3+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in engineering or related technical field with 2+ years of relevant experience In‑depth knowledge of principles and practices of engineering, preferably in the HVAC industry Basic skills with CAD applications (preferably SolidWorks) Familiarity with Codeware’s COMPRESS software Working knowledge of welding codes Working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section I, IV and VIII Essential Duties Work under the Responsible Charge of the ASME Design Engineer (ADE) Interpret and apply relevant sections of the ASME BPVC code in the design and analysis of pressure vessels and related equipment. Ensure designs meet code compliance, customer requirements and internal standards. Support the development of design calculations, drawings and specifications using ASME code guidelines. Prepare and review technical documentation including design reports, material specifications, fabrication drawings, and welding procedures. Assist in maintaining proper documentation for ASME stamp certifications. Work closely with senior engineers, drafters and quality assurance teams during the design and manufacturing process. Provide technical support to fabrication teams regarding ASME code interpretations, tolerances and weld procedures. Interface with third‑party inspectors, Authorized Inspectors (AIs) and regulatory bodies for inspections and audits. Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for non‑conformances or inspection findings. Contribute to project planning and scheduling related to ASME code deliverables. Support internal and external ASME audits and code shop reviews. Support product/development testing and design activities in support of engineering objectives. Assist in using manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping to improve productivity. Assist in various Cost Improvement Goals, proposing new ideas and initiating cost reduction and product improvement effort to increase overall value of product. Provide timely resolution of field service problems using sound engineering judgment. Keep current on product and component technology improvements and industry trends to effectively perform functions of the position. Investigate engineering/manufacturing issues related to assembly of product and take corrective action to prevent recurrence of problems. Working Environment 100% on‑site split between office‑based engineering work and on‑the‑floor support to troubleshoot and resolve real‑time fabrication issues while ensuring adherence to ASME BPVC requirements during build. Heavy fabrication shop environment involving frequent interaction with welders, fitters, inspectors and ship supervisors.
