Job Summary The Quality Technician III (NPI) at Jabil, Inc. plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of new products from initial design to mass production. This position focuses on the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, supporting engineering teams and manufacturing operations to achieve high product quality and reliability. Job Responsibilities Participate in NPI activities, including design reviews, DFM (Design for Manufacturability) assessments, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) sessions. Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections of NPI builds according to specifications and control plans. Perform dimensional inspections using various metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers). Collaborate with NPI engineers and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve quality issues during product development and pilot runs. Assist in the development and implementation of inspection plans, work instructions, and quality documentation for new products. Support the qualification of new suppliers and components, performing incoming inspections and verifying supplier quality data. Collect, analyze, and report quality data, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions for NPI projects. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities for NPI-related non-conformances. Provide training and guidance to production operators on new product quality requirements and inspection techniques. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and quality system procedures. Job Qualifications Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance) or equivalent practical experience. 3-5 years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on New Product Introduction (NPI). Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T preferred). Experience with various inspection tools and methodologies, including CMM operation (programming experience a plus). Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., 8D, SPC). Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced NPI environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
