Product Design Engineer Position Objective Responsible for the design, development, validation, and implementation of new products, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, UL standards, and applicable international regulations, while supporting successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field. 3+ years of experience in product design and development within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of conductor and insulation materials. Knowledge of UL standards, CSA, ISO, IPC, and applicable electrical and safety regulations. Experience with product certification and compliance processes. Knowledge of insulation and jacketing materials such as PVC, PE, XLPE, PUR, TPU, and related extrusion processes. Experience with conductive materials including copper, aluminum, shielding, braiding, terminals, and connectors. Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), validation, and engineering change processes. Knowledge of Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, SPC, and MSA. Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, customer specifications, and technical standards. Experience with laboratory testing, validation methods, and electrical performance evaluations. Familiarity with CAD software and technical drawing interpretation preferred. Advanced conversational English. Availability to travel. Main Responsibilities Design and develop new products according to customer and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with UL and applicable international standards during product development and launch phases. Analyze customer specifications and define technical product requirements. Coordinate prototype development, testing, validation, and approval processes. Support certification activities and compliance documentation. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Process Engineering teams during product launches. Develop and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, specifications, and validation reports. Participate in risk analysis, DFMEA activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical support for customers and internal departments regarding product performance and compliance. Ensure projects are completed according to timing, quality, and cost objectives.
