Develops new process technology and fundamental understanding in support of division/company priorities; proactive in the propagation of engineering principles and practices across the company. Develops and implements new products and/or processes/technologies to support company priorities. Technology gatekeeper—monitors, communicates, and sanctions best practices and consistent application of technology, serving as the final word on technical matters in the field of expertise. Key Responsibilities Provides high level problem solving capabilities for complex and broad ranging problems. Coaches, mentors, and develops mid- and senior-level engineers. Develops and protects fundamental knowledge with broad application. Manages and motivates diverse project teams across multiple functions. Broadly applies creativity and state-of-the-art knowledge to identify, develop, and deliver robust, competitively advantaged processes and products. Leads many areas of the manufacturing and/or technology roadmap, ensuring all equipment and processes are documented, protecting intellectual property, and providing step-change value. Uses statistical data analysis and DOE in major decisions, process problem solving, and process/product improvement. Develops and executes project plans for large, complex, and high-impact technical initiatives. Identifies opportunities and leads efforts for process simplification, such as step removal. Sets example and creates a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Contributes to division/company technical strategy development. Builds and maintains an extensive technical network both within and outside the company. Champions innovation and risk-taking. Develops and sells a vision to senior division and company leaders. Experiences/Education - Required Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Applied Science. Statistical training through Design of Experiments (DOE). Lean Fundamentals. Leads teams with clear and significant, demonstrable financial impact. Demonstrated ability to permanently solve difficult manufacturing issues (crises or chronic issues). Leads new process/product/innovation projects. Knowledge sharing across division and company—e.g., core technologist. Basic understanding of manufacturing cost accounting and drivers. Submission and approval of significant IP. Experience working with mentors with technical expertise in different technical areas. Experiences/Education - Desired Advanced degree in Engineering or Applied Science. Black Belt certification. Plant experience. Experience across multiple divisions and functions. Global experience.
