We are looking for SAP S4 Production Planning - Expert Lead . SAP S4 PP Expert — Description: Seasoned SAP Production Planning professional to be part of a complex, global migration to SAP S/4HANA. Responsible for leading and coordinating the SAP PP functional stream within a high-pressure environment, managing multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, and ensuring end-to-end production planning process alignment across a global landscape. This role requires a blend of deep functional expertise in SAP PP (ECC & S/4HANA) and strong technical understanding of the SAP platform, enabling the consultant to produce high-quality functional specifications, review and assess SAP Notes, and collaborate effectively with ABAP and integration teams. The candidate must demonstrate solid knowledge of S/4HANA extensibility principles, including Clean Core strategy, released APIs, and standard enhancement frameworks, ensuring that custom developments align with SAP best practices and long-term upgradeability. Responsibilities End-to-End Migration Leadership: Lead the full lifecycle of the S/4HANA migration, ensuring \"Best Practice\" adoption while managing complex legacy technical debt. Team Orchestration: Directly manage PP Functional teams to ensure custom code remediation and interface stability (at least 20-40 developers). Stakeholder Management: Navigate the demands of a global company, communicating effectively with C-suite executives and local site leads. Landscape Complexity: Manage multi-tier landscapes, ensuring synchronization between global templates and local requirements. Performance Under Pressure: Maintain project velocity and team morale within tight deadlines and high-accountability environments. Technical Competences S/4HANA Modern Development Paradigm Migration & Remediation Strategy Integration & Extensibility (The \"Clean Core\") Landscape & Governance 1. S/4HANA Modern Development Paradigm a. The Production Planning Lead must drive the transition from ECC-based Manufacturing processes to SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing best practices, enforcing standardization, simplification, and real-time production processing enabled by new S/4HANA Manufacturing functionality (MRP Live, PPDS, IBP, Digital Manufacturing).b. Strong understanding of CDS Views and S/4HANA Embedded Analytics from a Manufacturing perspective, enabling the lead to define functional requirements for real-time manufacturing reporting, guide the use of standard analytical content (production quantity, consumptions, scrap, capacity planning), and minimize the need for custom reports.c. Ability to design Manufacturing processes and reporting models that leverage HANA in-memory capabilities, reducing data duplication, reconciliation efforts, and batch processing, while ensuring efficient handling of high-volume manufacturing transactions.d. Capability to guide the adoption of SAP Fiori apps for Manufacturing, including production planning, production execution, master data, production control and costing, capacity management, quality integration, analytics and KPIs, advanced planning and scheduling, ensuring an intuitive user experience aligned with role-based access, segregation of duties, and standard SAP UX principles. 2. Migration & Remediation Strategy a. Experience in at least two migrations, expert in tools bridging old and new systems. b. PP test strategy definition (SIT, UAT, Regression, Integration). c. Data Migration Cockpit (SMC): LTMC and staging tables for large-scale data ingestion. d. Simplification Database: Knowledge of the S/4HANA Simplification List to predict how standard process changes affect custom code. 3. Integration & Extensibility (The \"Clean Core\") a. Ownership of PP integration and extensibility under SAP S/4HANA Clean Core principles, ensuring standard-driven process design and minimizing customizations. Governance of integrations between PP and FI, SD, MM, QM and external systems using standard APIs, IDocs and event-based integration. Definition and control of extensibility strategy (in-app and side-by-side on SAP BTP). b. SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform): Knowledge of Side-by-Side Extensibility to build custom apps outside the core ERP. c. Integration Suite / CPI: Managing the integration team requires understanding iFlows, API Management, and Event Mesh for real-time data exchange with factory floor systems (MES) or IoT sensors in mining. d. Legacy Protocols: Continued mastery of ALE/IDoc, RFC, and BAPIs for integrating with older manufacturing equipment. 4. Landscape & Governance a. gCTS (Git-enabled CTS): Modernizing the transport process using Git for version control within the SAP landscape. b. Performance Tuning: In heavy industry, a poorly written report can lock a production table. The leader must be an expert in ST05 (SQL Trace) and SAT (Runtime Analysis). Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in the SAP ecosystem. Proven Track Record: At least 2 full-lifecycle S/4HANA migrations (Brownfield, Greenfield, or Selective Data Transition). Deep experience in Manufacturing, specifically within Building Materials or Mining sectors (supply chain understanding is critical). Technical Literacy: Strong background in managing PP cycles and complex system integrations (BTP). Languages: English (C1-C2), Spanish (Native). Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT management or related field. Global Mindset: Experience working with distributed teams across time zones and cultures. Resilience, Collaboration and Stakeholder engagement capabilities. Work Conditions Overtime may be required to meet critical issues, deadlines, and SLAs. Sitting for extended periods; physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, meetings, and project rollout activities. Travel required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, and off-site project activities.
