Job Summary The Senior Materials Planner / Buyer is responsible for owning materials planning and purchasing for the Tampa location as well as supporting the Tijuana location, ensuring uninterrupted production through alignment between demand, supply, and inventory. This role translates demand signals and forecasts into actionable purchasing plans, maintains MRP planning parameters, and drives supplier performance to ensure material availability. The position plays a key role in improving inventory accuracy, standardizing processes across Tampa and Tijuana, and supporting ERP/WMS system implementation. This is a hands‑on, technically focused role requiring strong Excel skills, systems knowledge (MRP/ERP), and the ability to interface cross‑functionally with production team, warehouse, finance, suppliers and carriers. The role will play a key part in an upcoming ERP/WMS implementation. Responsibilities MATERIALS PLANNING Partner with Plant Manager, Customer Service & Sales teams in Tampa to align material plans with production requirements. Generate and execute purchasing requirements based on production plans and own the MRP planning parameters. Ensure daily JIT ordering of foam & cardboard, while planning weekly and monthly purchases of packaging materials, rolled goods, sewing supplies, accessories and MRO. Monitor demand and translate into supply execution, maintain safety stock strategy and plan purchases to support budget. Issue, communicate, and track PO acknowledgments and on‑time delivery. Expedite past‑due materials to prevent production disruptions. Provide rolling forecasts for key suppliers and maintain blanket PO’s where necessary. PURCHASING & SUPPLIER COORDINATION Support and standardize materials planning and purchasing processes across multiple locations, including Tampa and Tijuana. Manage local and off‑shore procurement of production materials, including intercompany purchases (e.g., skins from Core West). INVENTORY MANAGEMENT & CONTROLS Coordinate weekly and monthly physical counts with Production Manager and warehouse team. Update and maintain weekly and monthly inventory tracking spreadsheets for costs, COGS and inventory values. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records. Support cycle count programs and continuous improvement in inventory accuracy. Work with Finance to reconcile receiving discrepancies in QuickBooks. ERP / SYSTEMS SUPPORT Own materials planning execution within ERP/WMS implementation (SAP B1 / NetSuite) Utilize current systems, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Access and Excel to maximize current state processes while focusing on identifying process improvement opportunities with new ERP/WMS software. Drive transition from Excel‑based processes to system‑driven planning. Assist with data validation, item master setup, and process mapping. Support migration from manual Excel processes to system‑driven demand planning software (Streamline Software). Qualifications 5+ years’ experience in Production Planning, Purchasing, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment. Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, inventory tracking, forecasting). Demonstrated experience owning MRP planning and purchasing decisions. Experience supporting multiple locations and influencing operational teams. Experience processing Purchase Orders and reconciling receipts. Working knowledge of inventory analysis and safety stock calculations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Clear and professional communication skills. Experience with QuickBooks. Experience supporting ERP or WMS implementation. Experience coordinating LTL carriers and shipping documentation. Lean / continuous improvement exposure. Experience with Maquiladora structured companies in Mexico (preferred by not required). Bi‑lingual, English/Spanish (required). #J-18808-Ljbffr
