Job Description The Mechanical Project Leader coordinates all component‑related tasks and activities from the start of development until end‑of‑production, managing communication between internal and external stakeholders. Capable of leading medium to high‑complexity projects, the role acts as the technical counterpart to the Project Manager and is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing global multi‑disciplinary engineering activities to achieve project success. Coordinate cross‑functional engineering teams to achieve project goals during the project life cycle. Lead the support teams (purchasing, production plant project leader, mechanical design engineer, testing engineer) within the project execution. Manage international cross‑functional teams to assure automotive project requirements implementation on time, within costs and specifications. Collaborate with SW and HW development functions on advanced driver‑assist technologies. Main contact/interface and coordinator with customers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and prioritize increments by business value. Implement defined technical content to project targets. Manage risk within discipline scope and support the Project Manager. Plan and track the discipline scope, aligning cross‑functional mechanical topics. Evaluate mechanical requirements and estimate effort within project scope. Maintain direct contact with OEMs on technical discussions within project scope. Support the Project Manager in managing mechanical issues within project scope. Prepare releases within the project scope (technical releases, quality gates). Make design and implementation decisions to fulfill technical requirements within defined boundaries. Accept or reject technical requirements in the customer project. Evaluate customer specifications, translating requirements into requirements evaluation and test coverage. Carry out project management according to Bosch APQP. Estimate costs and develop, track, and control the budget. Plan and moderate samples build and delivery. Organize project meetings internally and externally to monitor and report project status to upper management on a recurrent basis (weekly, monthly, other). Support continuous improvement and cost‑reduction efforts. Assist sales and purchasing departments in acquisition phases for development efforts and technical descriptions. Ensure the timely delivery of product goals and targets, including specifications and samples (resource planning and timelines). Document the project to meet internal and customer quality standards and ensure best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree: Bachelor of Science in Mechatronic Engineering or related technical field (Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial Systems) or equivalent. 3 to 5 years of full experience in technical project management of automotive projects (product development and life cycle automotive industry experience). 3 to 5 years of experience in leading project teams. Experience with vehicle and system testing and release procedures in automotive or related industry. Ability to work with team members of other disciplines or departments. Strong oral and written communication skills. Team‑oriented, problem‑solving, strong coordination and diplomatic skills, and assertiveness. Ability to promote integration and motivation of the project team. Travel required approximately 20 % of the time, depending on project type and status. Essential Project Management Skills: organizational awareness, excellent communication, time management, problem‑solving, leadership, risk management. Goal‑oriented, structured way of working. Capable of working independently in an organized and structured manner with strong analytical skills, supporting a systematic approach to problem resolution and strong communication skills with global development teams and external customers. Efficiency, flexibility, ability to influence/convince, team building. Working directly with end customers in USA, Europe or Asia. Language & Tools: English: Advanced (Fluent); good written, verbal, and presentation skills to discuss and negotiate issues and solutions with team and external customers. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project). Additional Information Travel required approximately 5 % of the time within Mexico or the USA.
