Meaningful Work From Day One The Public Affairs Manager’s core responsibility is to oversee the public policy and regulatory affairs strategy primarily for Mexico. This is a highly visible role, with key elements of representation of the company with key legislators and regulators, trade associations and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs). To fulfill the role successfully, the Public Affairs Manager must be equally adept working with senior executives and junior personnel alike, be comfortable working in, and have the ability to lead and inspire diverse and cross‑functional teams. Reflective of the corporate, commercial and strategic nature of this position, the Public Affairs Manager will be an integral member of the extended Mexico leadership team. While the majority of day‑to‑day matters will be focused in Mexico, the Public Affairs Manager will also be required to advise the Government Affairs Director on matters of particular importance and sensitivity. What You Can Expect Serve as the first point of contact for all matters in Mexico related to public affairs, ensuring high-level expertise and the ability to swiftly adapt to and deliver against state, federal, and local matters. Execute the daily public affairs strategy, including continuous outreach to government authorities, industry partners, opinion leaders, and internal stakeholders. Build and leverage local relationships with government authorities and organizations to ensure successful business activities, including policymakers, the Tequila Regulatory Council, and trade associations/NGOs such as the National Tequila Chamber, CIVYL, FISAC, and ABELAC. Advise and engage in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Public Policy, and Regulatory Affairs. Anticipate and manage developing issues that may impact the organization. Proactively manage government relations risk with colleagues. Develop external networks by participating in social and cultural events that strengthen the organization’s relationships with the community, industry, and government authorities. What You Bring to the Table Bachelor’s degree. Extensive experience in public affairs and government relations, including formulation and drafting of policy positions, design and implementation of advocacy campaigns, in‑person advocacy, legislative/regulatory analysis, reputation management, and engagement in industry affairs. Fully bilingual in Spanish/English. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively in a collaborative matrix. Demonstrated ability to manage through influence with internal and external partners. Ability and willingness to travel, including some weekends.
