Overview APQP Engineer – As part of the Quality Department, the APQP Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet customer and internal quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle. The role supports Quality, Engineering, and Production by driving problem‑solving activities, participating in APQP and launch readiness, performing process and product validations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This role strengthens product conformity, enhances process stability, and supports customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Participate in APQP activities for new products and engineering changes, ensuring completion of quality deliverables such as control plans, PFMEA updates, and validation requirements. Support PPAP submissions by preparing documentation, coordinating internal testing, and ensuring alignment with customer standards. Conduct product inspections, testing, and verification to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Support process capability studies, MSA, SPC analysis, and other validation-related activities to ensure stable and capable processes. Lead or support root‑cause analysis using structured problem‑solving tools (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa). Drive implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions. Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on quality, scrap reduction, productivity, and process robustness. Support internal audits and customer or certification audits (IATF 16949, process audits, product audits). Ensure alignment with quality procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, control plans, deviation records, and quality KPIs. Analyze quality data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement. Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Launch teams to ensure consistent quality performance. Support customer interactions related to quality topics, including issue resolution, sample submissions, and improvement plans. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline. 2–4 years of experience in automotive quality, production quality, or process engineering. Experience with APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 environments is preferred. Familiarity with quality validation activities such as capability studies, MSA, SPC, and product/process verification. Strong understanding of quality core tools (FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC) and engineering drawing interpretation, including GD&T. Solid knowledge of structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa). Fluent English proficiency (business‑level), with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with multicultural and cross‑functional teams. High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to evaluate data and identify improvement opportunities. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
