This role involves guiding small and medium-sized business clients through structured analyses of their operations, finances, and strategic plans to identify issues and opportunities. The person in this position will mentor business owners and managers, helping them clarify objectives, evaluate options, and develop actionable business plans. Daily activities include meeting with clients, reviewing financial and operational data, preparing tailored recommendations, and delivering training sessions on core business topics. The Business Consultant Mentor will also document consulting engagements, track progress against agreed goals, and collaborate with internal colleagues to refine consulting methodologies and tools.Qualifications Business planning skills, including the ability to develop, review, and refine short- and long-term business plans. Mentoring and training skills to coach business owners and leaders, facilitate learning, and support capability building. Experience working with small business environments and understanding of their unique challenges and constraints. Finance skills, such as interpreting financial statements, budgeting, and evaluating business viability and risk. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support abilities, with a structured and data-informed approach. Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, practical terms. Ability to build trust-based client relationships, manage multiple engagements, and work independently on-site. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus. Prior experience in consulting, business advisory, or leadership roles in small or medium-sized enterprises is preferred.
