Role Summary The Sr. Project Engineer will work on order‑specific design of liquid ring vacuum pumps/compressors and systems (packages). Responsibilities Order‑specific adaptation of pump designs, components and systems/packages, based on existing standard systems. Order handling of engineered‑to‑order orders for process systems/packages including performing risk analysis, design reviews, conformity assessment and coordination and training of GTEC support for engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, wiring diagrams, isometric pipe drawings, BOMs, etc. in cooperation with Itzehoe and/or Guelph site team. Design creation considering and applying the applicable directives such as machinery directive, pressure equipment directive (PED) and ATEX directive as well as international standards and guidelines such as ASME Codes, NEC, API, etc. Application of design engineering principles with regard to functional and production‑oriented design considering HFE. Perform and evaluate necessary calculations for optimal component design. Selection and specification of system/package components (valves, instruments, pipes, etc.) for procurement. Creation of required documents for product portfolio including accessories, such as parts lists, drawings, SAP master data, instructions and manufacturing documents. Provision of inquiry documents for the supply chain and technical review of incoming supplier offers. Technical support for component qualifications and external solutions from suppliers during production and for quality assurance. Documentation creation and organization in particular of all technical information, such as operating and assembly instructions, including initiation of required translations, with significant involvement of Commercial Operations team. Review of P&ID flow diagrams. Determine cost and delivery impact of changes to the scope of supply. Collaborate with BUs and GTEC Engineers to improve customer satisfaction and employee engagement. Implement engineering best practices and Flowserve standards, review new standards and identify gaps. Support customers by providing technical solutions support. Provide assistance to FPD sites to develop work scope required in solving equipment problems through pump/system/operations modifications & upgrades via technical/commercial proposals. Apply problem‑solving programs & methods to modify existing product designs to meet customer needs & improve product life. Identify new or improved design standards and procedural documents. Work with other engineers to promptly investigate & resolve shop floor problems relating to design or quality issues; record & report findings, make corrections & help develop and implement permanent, cost‑effective solutions. Responsible for fulfilling customer requirements and meeting project budget. Requirements Education BSc or MSc (preferably) in Mechanical Engineering is required. Professional Experience 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Oil & Gas industry, project engineering, 3D design, hydraulic engineering, pressure vessels, instrumentation and interpreting customer specifications. Experience in order engineering (at least 1 year). Other Skills and Experiences English fluent – mandatory. Proficiency in SAP R3/Hana, DS Solidworks, Windchill PLM, Ansys Workbench, MS Office. Effective communication skills to integrate into the supporting site team and work in close collaboration with all order‑related functions. Willingness to work temporarily in German/Guelph site. Analytical, problem‑solving and computer skills. Good planning, time management and organizational skills. Ability to focus on long‑term goals and to identify and produce deliverables aligned with business objectives. Good communication skills with customers, sales, operations and engineering. Flexibility concerning working hours & willingness to travel for planned visits or to overcome unexpected issues (up to 10%). Experience working in multicultural teams. Knowledge of national and international practices & standards (e.g., EN/DIN, API‑610, API‑681, Shell‑Dep, etc.). Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
