Position Summary The Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, programming, implementation, and maintenance of automated control systems for manufacturing and industrial processes. This role supports automation projects by integrating PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, robotics, sensors, and motion control technologies to improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Commission automation devices based on the active project scheme in accordance with ISO/TC 184 standards for automation systems and integration. Follow up on Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to validate equipment functionality before shipment, as well as on-site validation for final delivery. This includes generating pre-shipment reports and final project completion reports. Comply with competencies according to the FSA-11 Competency Matrix. Evaluations will be conducted prior to the start of each project for validation and integration into the execution team. Comply with the responsibilities established in the FSA-10 RACI Matrix, as outlined in the documented responsibilities and competency evaluations performed every six months or upon Project Supervisor request, whichever occurs first. Provide support for commissioning activities and testing, including: Static Inspections: Without power/fluids, hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, and electrical insulation testing. Functional Testing: Communication tests, alarm simulations, safety testing, control loop verification, PK-YK cycle condition validation (sensors), and motor validation. Dynamic Testing: Operational start-up, performance validation, PID control synchronization, and motion control system validation. Provide support, follow-up, and documentation for machinery validation activities, including repeatability, operability, information systems, status monitoring, alarms, and safety validations according to project requirements. Update project documentation such as schematics, manuals, Bill of Materials (BOM), project schedules, and activity tracking logs. Train qualified personnel for equipment commissioning and Buy-Off testing activities, including maintaining records and follow-up documentation until project completion.
