Equipment Maintenance Engineer – Guadalajara North Reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager, the Equipment Maintenance Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and executing quality assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new and existing products, with a strong focus on electronics manufacturing and robust server‑grade assemblies. What a typical day looks like Through troubleshooting, identify machine malfunctions and isolate the failure mechanism. Repair the failure mechanism in the most cost‑effective manner. Perform preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules. Perform calibrations and re‑qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules. Assist process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment. Research and implement corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms. Record times and problems in equipment logs. Provide daily equipment functioning activity information. Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment. Disassemble instruments and equipment and inspect components for defects. Align repairs, replace, and balance component parts and circuitry. Devise formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations. Assist engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment. May require travel to other Flex sites or equipment vendors' locations. Highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance. Specialized Job Allocate work to a team of fitters. Check and calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy. Fit new parts. Carry out quality inspections. Acknowledge immediately to equipment breakdowns. Fix faults on site or arrange for replacement machinery or equipment to be installed. Keep production managers informed of progress. Organize teams or unipersonal to ensure 24‑hour cover is available. Work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or computerized systems. Qualifications Typically requires an associate degree in a related field, military technical training or equivalent education and training. Intermedian English.
