The Technical Design Expert – Mexico leads and coordinates all Mexico-based technical and design activities supporting the WIFA Long Term Water Augmentation Fund Project. The role ensures that engineering studies, concept designs, and technical solutions are aligned with program requirements, regulatory expectations, and cross-border infrastructure interfaces. This position acts as the primary technical reference in Mexico, coordinating closely with Mexico-based engineering teams, Arizona-based program leadership, and multidisciplinary technical specialists. Technical Design Leadership Lead technical and engineering activities in Mexico, including feasibility studies, concept designs, and technical deliverables related to water sourcing, conveyance, desalination, and cross-border infrastructure systems. Cross-Border Technical Coordination Act as the key technical interface between Mexico- and U.S.-based teams, ensuring alignment of design criteria, technical assumptions, and system integration. Multidisciplinary Coordination Coordinate with internal and external technical specialists to ensure designs are constructible, operable, maintainable, and aligned with project objectives. Design Review & Quality Assurance Review technical reports, calculations, drawings, and consultant deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards. Permitting & Environmental Support Provide technical support for permitting, environmental studies, and regulatory submissions, ensuring designs align with local requirements and constraints. Construction & Execution Support Coordinate with construction teams to ensure design solutions are execution-ready and support early works, sequencing, and technical clarifications. Reporting & Documentation Prepare technical updates, risk assessments, and progress reports for project leadership and support governance and executive reporting activities.
