Overview This position is a key addition to the newly established Engineering Center in Mexico, supporting Grid Automation projects for the Americas region and ensuring business continuity. The role focuses on creating and managing detailed electrical designs and ensuring the adherence and improvement of design standards and processes, supporting substation automation systems. Responsibilities 70% Electrical Design and Drafting Create and update detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software. Develop 2D and 3D models for cable routing, electrical components, and assemblies to support system integration. Collaborate with electrical engineers to translate design concepts and project requirements into technical drawings. Prepare and manage comprehensive documentation packages and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing and assembly teams. 30% Design Compliance and Process Management Ensure all designs and drawings comply with relevant industry standards such as IEC, ANSI, and NFPA. Manage and maintain CAD libraries, including symbols, templates, and naming conventions, to ensure design consistency and quality. Review engineering drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards before release. Identify and recommend improvements to design workflows and processes to increase efficiency and maintain high-quality outputs. Qualifications Bachelor’s or technical degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in electrical design and computer-aided design (CAD). Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN Electric P8. Experience with engineering drawings, 3D modeling, assembly drawing, control panel design, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Knowledge of engineering design processes, quality control, analytical skills, continuous improvement processes, and workflow management.
