Health and Safety Coordinator - Construction Projects Mexico As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will provide authoritative guidance to the project and construction team, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and health and safety standards. Responsibilities Providing authoritative guidance to the project and construction team on legal compliance topics such as risk assessments, legal audit & claims from local authorities regarding site safety labor inspections, safety committee workstreams, \"contingencies determination\" and work position adaptations, and incident investigations. Planning and developing strategic work systems around HS&E guidelines, recommending suitable processes aligned with client and regulatory standards. Supporting the existing site safety team to maintain reporting regimes for Health and Safety statistics. Supporting business change through effective change‑management processes in a fast‑paced environment, when required. Implementing and reviewing the company’s global safety policies, ensuring local legislative requirements are also met. Maintaining and developing personal competence to meet the demands of both the business and clients. Managing and delivering projects within the region with flexibility and adaptability. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field to HS&E. Minimum of 5 years professional experience. Qualified Health and Safety Professional holding specialized courses in occupational health and safety, according to Mexican regulations. A flexible individual who can understand the issues presented and adapt general methods and processes to meet client and business needs, with previous experience in construction or projects with stringent HS&E measures. Significant HS&E experience, ideally gained in an industrial and/or construction environment. Flexible approach to work, while always managing your own priorities and workload. Ability to effectively lead and manage a HS&E team. Excellent communication and influencing skills; results‑oriented and tenacious. Comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organization. In‑depth understanding of Mexican Health and Safety legislation. Ability to build credibility quickly, using influencing skills and strategies to gain buy‑in for change. Fluent in Spanish and competent in English (preferable).
