Job Summary Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, this position gives direction to Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality functions, as needed. It provides leadership, mentoring, evaluation and development of Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers and works closely with the Inspection team (Final and Receiving) to drive supplier improvement in Quality, Delivery and Lean Manufacturing. What You’ll Do Lead the Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality functions, mentor and develop staff, collaborate with Inspection teams, coordinate corrective and preventive actions, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. Job Responsibilities Provide leadership, mentoring, evaluation and development of Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers while working closely with the Inspection team (final and receiving). Facilitate problem solving and ensure coordination of corrective and preventive actions. Assist the Quality Manager in system development and maintenance. Drive supplier improvement in the areas of Quality, Delivery and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Identify needs and develop the Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality Engineering functions as required. Overall responsibility for Supplier PPAP approval. Ensure compliance with all applicable customer requirements and government regulations involving product quality. Drive customer, supplier and internal corrective action and preventive action for timely and effective completion. Support improvement performance of key suppliers by implementing process controls and developing quality assurance plans. Collaborate with the Site Quality Manager to review, improve and standardize daily activities and actions necessary to support key functional initiatives. Ensure effective communication and reporting to customers and suppliers. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of eight years in Supplier, Process and/or Customer Quality. Experience leading people. Technical knowledge. Metrology Lab Management experience. High knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Knowledge of industry quality registration requirements and certification processes (e.g., ISO 9001/AS9100). Demonstrated use of Lean Tools and Six Sigma and problem‑solving tools and techniques (8D, A3, 3‑Legged 5 Why). Experience using AIAG quality tools to reduce variability and mitigate risk (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC). Wide experience in the Metal‑Mechanical industry, stamping, die cut and sheet metal processes, including transfer, progressive and simple dies, and peripheral components such as matrices, guides, inserts, punches and stripper plates. Wide understanding of press process parameters (pressure, lubrication, speed, etc.) and defect detection (burrs, cracking, wrinkling, distortion, tool marks, flow marks).
