About the Company The Junior Design Release Engineer (DRE) – Active Chassis & Actuation is responsible for supporting the design, development, validation, and production release of advanced electromechanical actuation systems and active chassis components. Acting as the technical bridge between mechanical hardware and electronic controls, this role ensures all sub-systems meet packaging, safety, weight, and functional performance targets across global vehicle platforms. About the Role Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Support the packaging, spatial integration, and mechanical design of active chassis components using NX CAD. Manage part release workflows, engineering changes (ECN/ECR), and digital documentation within Teamcenter. Maintain and update the technical Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned vehicle configurations. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to engineering drawings and perform tolerance stack-up analyses. Responsibilities Collaborate with Electrical/Electronic (EE) teams to ensure robust software-hardware interactions for smart actuators. Assist in defining hardware interfaces for electronic braking modules, steering actuators, and smart suspension components. Track functional compliance regarding fail-safe strategies and functional safety baselines (e.g., ISO 26262 awareness). Qualifications Required: Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering. Required Skills 0 - 3 years of experience in product engineering (automotive internship, co-op, or Formula SAE/Baja experience is highly preferred). Foundational exposure to CAD modeling (NX preferred, or CATIA/SolidWorks) and PLM software (Teamcenter preferred). Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, electromechanical systems, sensors, or fluid power/hydraulic controls. Familiarity with engineering documentation (2D drawings, GD&T, and specification sheets). Preferred Skills High level of self-motivation and time management suited for a fully remote operation. Strong cross-functional teamwork capabilities within a global matrix organization. Excellent structured problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail.
