The Manufacturing Engineer serves as a pivotal leader, guiding teams dedicated to optimizing operations and manufacturing processes, including tooling, tool design, and equipment utilization. This role is instrumental in ensuring that assigned parts and products are produced efficiently, economically, and in strict accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Directly oversees and develops high‑performing manufacturing engineering teams, providing continuous training and mentorship to support and enhance plant operations. Leads all aspects of tool design, assembly, manufacturing processes, cost estimation, systems planning and layout, and the establishment and release of operational standards. Drives the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, equipment, and systems to achieve and exceed operational objectives. Manages the installation of new machinery and process modifications, ensuring the most efficient and cost‑effective production or assembly of high‑quality components. This is a staff position that requires an expert in Project Management tools and processes. Ability to facilitate NPI/CPS projects, lead chartering sessions, develop and validate network diagrams, lead integration and compression sessions. Manages the Manufacturing Engineering expertise and provides guidance to establish the necessary requirements for cost‑effective manufacturing or assembly processes. Controls plant layouts, machine moves, and new equipment installations. Coordinates all capital projects related to assigned factories including forecasting, planning and monitoring special projects to completion. Provides related reports to upper management. Impacts project performance (time, cost, quality, capacity), customer satisfaction, facility operations, asset utilization product performance, and cost management. Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Knowledge of manufacturing production operations. Advanced English. Utilizes advanced tools and analytical approaches to forecast production demands and manage resources effectively. Prepares detailed management reports and interprets forecasts to ensure adequate capacity. Contributes to the development of capacity plans and supports efficient alignment of resources with organizational goals. Champions lean manufacturing philosophies across the organization and mentors colleagues on lean principles. Consults on work cell and layout designs, ensuring alignment with lean objectives, and leads initiatives to measure and monitor lean performance. Applies extensive industry knowledge to select, optimize, and evaluate manufacturing methodologies and technologies. Develops and maintains best practice documentation and trains others in all aspects of the manufacturing process. Leads measurement and assessment of new processes, ensuring continuous improvement and competitiveness. Creates and rolls out manufacturing policies and procedures, ensuring process compliance and operational excellence. Explains rationale behind standards, engages stakeholders, and provides feedback for ongoing improvement. Monitors adherence to standards and escalates potential exceptions. Records issues and solutions; considers multiple perspectives; weighs risks and benefits; uses diagnostic tools. Provides feedback and recognition; supports salary decisions; sets and updates objectives collaboratively. Previous expertise in Black Belt role, manufacturing engineering processes, and NPI projects. Location Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, Mexico. This position is five‑day, office‑based.
