The Designer will be accountable for both aesthetic and technical textile design development, specifically for mattress ticking applications in Canada. Designing woven and knit constructions focus on the Canadian market Keeping up to date with market trends, fabric, color, and design Collaborating with customers to fulfil design requirements, offering creative input for custom projects, and developing trend presentations for customer meetings Creating innovative designs for open line aligned with current market trends, and merchandise fabrics for in-house collections, while also presenting new collections to the commercial team Presenting 3D proposals to both internal and external stakeholders’ presentations Evaluating samples before shipping to customers or finalizing for in-house collections Addressing fabric quality issues through engineering and design as needed Being well-informed about BekaertDeslee’s capabilities, products, and processes Profile Required to hold a bachelor's degree in textile design or an equivalent field Proficiency in EAT, Photoshop/Illustrator, and Microsoft Office programs is a must Possesses excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal savvy Demonstrates a customer-focused approach Highly self-motivated and approachable Exhibits high accuracy in administration and effective problem-solving skills Has a keen eye for detail and can effectively set priorities with exceptional organizational abilities Embraces change and is eager to learn Adapts easily to changes and can navigate ambiguityn Remains composed under pressure Demonstrates integrity and trustworthiness Passionate about their work Proficient in English and French.
