We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Streaming Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Kafka and distributed event-driven systems to join our growing Ingest Platform Team . This is an opportunity to work on large-scale, high-throughput streaming architectures powering mission-critical platforms and real-time data ecosystems. You’ll play a key role in designing, scaling, optimizing, and evolving Kafka-based solutions that support enterprise-grade ingestion and event processing pipelines. You’ll collaborate with platform engineers, data teams, infrastructure specialists, and application developers to build resilient, scalable, and high-performance streaming systems in modern cloud-native environments. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain high-performance Kafka streaming solutions for enterprise-scale ingestion platforms. Build and support Kafka infrastructure with a strong focus on scalability, resilience, reliability, and operational excellence. Optimize Kafka topic configurations, partitions, replication, and consumer groups to maximize performance and throughput. Manage Kafka broker upgrades, debugging, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance activities. Develop integrations between Kafka and external systems, services, and data platforms. Support event-driven architectures and real-time streaming workflows across distributed systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement scalable ingestion and streaming solutions aligned with platform needs. Must-have Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 8+ years of experience working with distributed systems, streaming platforms, or backend engineering. Strong hands-on expertise with: Apache Kafka Kafka Streams Kafka Connect Experience managing Kafka infrastructure beyond managed services (not limited to AWS MSK). Strong experience debugging Kafka brokers, managing upgrades, and resolving infrastructure issues. Solid understanding of: Kafka scalability best practices Partitioning strategies Consumer group optimization Replication and throughput optimization Experience with at least one programming language: Python Java Kotlin TypeScript Experience with: Apache Airflow dbt Core Docker Kubernetes Experience integrating Kafka with distributed platforms and enterprise systems. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Advanced English level (B2+/C1) with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice-to-have AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows. Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation. Knowledge of Kafka security best practices. Experience building internal developer platforms or streaming enablement tools. Exposure to large-scale event-driven architectures and real-time analytics platforms. Experience working with observability and monitoring platforms for distributed systems.
