Job Description Fill in for the Material Planning Supervisor and Master Scheduler as needed. Work with sales on coordinating customer orders for production to achieve on‑time shipment and a high level of customer service. Update forecasts on an as‑needed basis based on demand input and design changes. Lead efforts to improve throughput with a focus on loading, lead‑time, and optimizing plant capacity. Review capacity by work‑center and rebalance load to optimize customer service. Work to align original acknowledge and promise dates with customer request dates. Set up, execute, and maintain ordering parameters and MRP data. Monitor capacities and product‑line delivery performance and daily throughputs. Monitor inventory levels to avoid potential excess, obsolescence, and shortages. Oversee inventory policy through ABCD classification and use of proper planning parameters. Adjust forecasts and planning parameters as required—including safety stocks, reorder points, minimum orders, etc.—in adherence with Vertiv guidelines. Participate in cost savings efforts. Review and release manufacturing orders for sub‑assemblies and finished goods. Participate in daily production and planning meetings. Coordinate engineering changes and product phase‑in and phase‑out. Daily coordination of information between production, purchasing, sales, shipping, and engineering. Represent the group in relevant meetings and act as a liaison. Provide product availability and shipping information to sales and/or customers as required. Work with customers and sales coordinators on scheduling finished goods to meet customer expectations. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly metric reports. Develop in‑depth knowledge of products and critical operations. Qualifications BS in business administration, or a related field. 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, materials management, or material planning function. Experience in an industrial, high‑mix job shop environment. Very proficient in spreadsheets and MS Office. Hands‑on experience with calculating safety stocks, reorder points (MIN/MAX), forecasting, and inventory turns. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to work at different levels of the organization. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Competencies Demonstrating ethics and integrity.
