Benefits Specialist – Overview The Benefits Specialist will provide administrative support for benefit plans and assist employees with questions and issues related to their benefits. This position reports to the Benefits Manager. Responsibilities Coordinates benefit invoices. Prepares and maintains benefits education and communication materials. Conducts employee education meetings. Conducts new employee orientations (Benefits portion).F Coordinates and facilitates financial well‑being activities such as retirement workshops and educational webinars. Prepares life insurance and disability claims. Participates in annual open‑enrollment projects from start to finish. Assists with new HCM projects (open enrollment, new benefits, etc.) and issue resolution. Provides support on various benefits compliance efforts. Coordinates Service Award program. Assists with retirement plan administration. Responds to employee benefits questions and concerns. Assists with benefits enrollment process. Provides resolution support on employee issues such as enrollment and billing. Provides guidance to members on open‑enrollment issues and benefit options. Updates, researches, and resolves enrollment, marital status, and dependent verification discrepancies to ensure vendors and payroll receive accurate eligibility, enrollment, and deduction information. Coordinates employee premiums and arrears with payroll. May partner with various in‑country brokers to provide benefits support. Other benefits duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years’ progressive experience in a related field. A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Fluent in English and Spanish, both verbal and written. Effective interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications. Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams. Strong knowledge of benefits terminology, concepts, and practices—and the ability to stay abreast of change. The ability to use knowledge, facts, and data to effectively solve problems. Exceptional time‑management and project‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment. Self‑motivated and a fast learner. Creative thinking and problem solving. Ability to manage multiple high‑level projects in a fast‑paced environment. Highly organized with attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong customer‑service skills. Should be highly resourceful and proactive in task execution. Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel). Must be able to comply with and support WWT’s core values.
