Overview At MezTal , we are building a new accounting department in Mexico to work with a US based operation , and we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with limited but relevant experience who have worked with U.S.-based companies and are eager to develop their careers in accounting. NOTE: The start date will be in early October, and the recruitment process is currently underway to secure the right talent for the team. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records in compliance with U.S. GAAP . Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheets, and other financial statements. Prepare and organize documentation for audits and internal reviews. Maintain accurate records of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (non-related degrees will not be considered). Professional English proficiency (written and spoken). Experience working with U.S.-based companies (internships or entry-level roles considered). Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP principles (academic or professional exposure). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a hybrid model from Guadalajara, Mexico. Proficiency with MS Excel. Basic experience with accounting software (Yardi, or similar is a plus). Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of accounting experience. Exposure to multinational environments or cross-border accounting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
