Job Description The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for leading quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with aerospace standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role drives robust quality systems, leads complex problem‑solving efforts, and partners cross‑functionally to improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and enhance product reliability. The position serves as a key technical authority within the organization and may mentor junior engineers. Responsibilities Lead and maintain compliance with AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements, including audit readiness Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for complex quality issues using structured methodologies (8D, DMAIC, etc.) Support on sustaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) processes and documentation Lead internal, external, and supplier audits, including coordination of responses and closure of findings Oversee nonconformance management Analyze quality data (SPC, Cp/Cpk, Pareto, trends) to identify systemic issues and implement improvements Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to optimize processes, reduce variation, and improve yield Support APQP/PPAP activities and lead First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 Review and approve control plans, inspection plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions Act as primary quality interface for customers and regulatory bodies Lead supplier quality activities, including qualification, performance monitoring, and corrective actions Mentor and guide junior quality engineers and inspectors Champion continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) across operations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or related) 5–10+ years of experience in quality engineering within aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 NADCAP requirements knowledge is a plus Proven experience with advanced problem‑solving tools (8D, DMAIC, statistical analysis) Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and blueprint interpretation Experience with SPC, Minitab, or similar statistical tools Demonstrated experience leading audits and interacting with customers and regulatory agencies Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills Key Competencies Technical leadership and decision‑making authority Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capability Process improvement mindset with measurable impact Cross‑functional collaboration and influence High accountability and attention to detail Working Conditions Significant presence on the manufacturing floor Interaction with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and customers May require extended hours during audits or critical quality events Use of appropriate PPE in production areas Preferred / Differentiators Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification Experience with NADCAP‑accredited processes (e.g., heat treat, special processes) Background in machining, welding, assembly or coatings Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and digital quality tools Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume aerospace production environments #J-18808-Ljbffr
