A Wireless Engineer designs, implements, and maintains wireless communication networks. This includes tasks like designing wireless network layouts, configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring network security and performance. They will be involved in developing new wireless technologies and optimizing existing ones. The main focus of this position will relate to support, design and maintenance of the Cisco wireless environment, but other duties will include the routine maintenance and support of SDWAN, switching and data centers for nVent’s 120+ locations globally. What You Will Experience In This Position Network Design and Implementation – Design and implement wireless network infrastructures. A deep familiarity in Cisco products beyond wireless will benefit the candidate. Hardware and Software Configuration – Configure and manage Cisco network hardware (routers, switches, access points) and software (network management systems). Global Support, Troubleshooting and Maintenance – Diagnose and resolve network issues, perform routine maintenance and firmware upgrades, ensuring network stability and performance across nVent’s 120+ locations globally. Security Management – Implement and maintain security protocols to protect the wireless network, following nVent security protocols to ensure a secured wireless network. Performance Optimization – Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and efficiency. Discuss wireless performance with business leadership to align tactical and strategic direction for wireless technology. Documentation and Reporting – Create documentation for network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and performance reports. Staying Current – Keep up-to-date with the latest wireless technologies, trends, and security best practices. Additional Responsibilities – Develop custom wireless applications, conduct site surveys and RF analysis, work with various wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Zigbee, emerging technologies), and manage and mentor other team members. You Have Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is preferred. 5+ years of experience supporting wireless platforms. Strong knowledge of Cisco technologies. Fully bilingual. Knowledge of Cisco SDWAN is preferred. Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Certifications Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are preferred but not required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
