Role Purpose Corning has an immediate opening for a motivated Network Security Engineer who has firewall experience to join the Global Cybersecurity Operations organization. This position is part of an expanding team aiming to limit Cybersecurity risks and protect our corporate capability using multiple layers of protection. Key Responsibilities Physically install and connect firewalls and other security appliances, performing some security tasks, adapting to evolving technologies and threat techniques. Install the latest vendor‑approved stable firmware on appliances, establishing updated procedures of installation as needed. Monitor firewalls for up/down or issues, document, root‑cause analysis, and reporting. Create virtual firewalls with appropriate configurations and policies. Configure remote access VPN and site‑to‑site VPN functionality. Configure firewall interfaces, network configurations, access‑control lists and policies, routing, remote access (VPN), and next‑generation firewall feature sets implementing best practices. Integrate firewall with VPN and other related security products/appliances as required. Configure SIEM integration. Create and manage firewall rulesets. Collect, analyze, and make change recommendations on configuration information to streamline support and minimize impact to manufacturing. Collect and initially analyze packet‑trace information and recommend corrective actions based on the analysis. Investigate minor security breaches using established procedures, incorporating analytical tools and techniques. Consult technical documentation, bulletins, and release notes for known problems; contribute to management reporting processes. Work on‑site, hybrid, or remote, after hours and/or as part of an on‑call rotation. Experiences & Education – Required 3–5+ years of firewall experience. Relevant certifications desired on security tools, such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, VPN. Experience desired with IVANTI Pulse Secure, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco. Required Skills Strong experience with vulnerability management. Support out‑of‑band connectivity devices and log collectors. Create and manage firewall rulesets. Advanced troubleshooting on the full range of firewall products. Explore and apply relevant digital tools and skills for the role. Understand and effectively apply appropriate methods, tools, applications, and processes. Understand and collaborate on the analysis of user/customer needs and represent this in their work.
