Responsibilities Under routine supervision, determines, from simple to complex, generally customer-specific programs, the optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing company products. Generally, follows a product through to satisfactory production, coordinating the manufacturing processes involved to meet customer, government and company requirements. Provide support to special processes as Ti welding; support and trainer in both manual and automated PAW and GTAW, X-Ray, surface preparation, cleaning processes and coatings. Create, develop, plan, determine process controls, operations and processes documentation per NADCAP or other applicable specifications to fabricate quality parts and comply with audits related to special processes. Analyze engineering design documents to establish manufacturing methods and processes to manufacture a component, including creating conceptual sketches and initiating the design and building of required tooling within established budgets and submitting for appropriate approvals. Prepare a bill of materials for procurement of raw material and describe outside vendor services needed for the manufacture of a component (heat treat, anodizing, painting, welding, etc.). Instruct production workers/shop supervisors in proper use of tools and implementation of planned methods and processes, and provide technical support as problems occur, analyzing and researching solutions and implementing corrective action as needed. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial). Minimum 2 years of proven experience in similar manufacturing processes. English 90% proficiency. Understanding of fabrication, assembly and shop math, including algebra, trigonometry and related concepts. Knowledge in GTAW and PAW welding processes. Knowledge and experience in titanium alloy welding fabrications. Experience in aerospace welding and quality codes and standards. Knowledge in DMAIC, 5 Why’s, Ishikawa, Pareto, APQP/PPAP, FMEA, MSA, Process Control, Problem Solving. Basic CNC knowledge. Lean Manufacturing knowledge (6’s, 6m’s, eight lean wastes, standard work, VSM, etc.). AS Specs, NADCAP and other welding specifications (AWS). Engineering drawings interpretation. GD&T. Proper EPP use, follow safety rules, use only authorized tools and equipment. Active Mexican Passport. Active US Visa. Desirable Experience in PAW welding titanium in an aerospace environment. Lean principles & SPC for welding processes. Experience with AMET process controllers. Experience with chemical cleaning process (etch). AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office utilization. NX12 CAD. Soft skills (emotional intelligence, conflict management, good attitude, win-to-win thinking). Professional integrity. Coaching skills.
