Provides feedback to appropriate engineering and support groups to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production. Reviews and interprets customer specifications. Provides engineering expertise for all technical issues related to the customer’s product(s) from product conception to product obsolescence. Works closely with customer on the design of new products. Gathers, understands and converts customer data into usable manufacturing information. Verifies that specifications conform to customer, industry and company standards. Assists in selecting and programming manufacturing equipment to build product. Assists manufacturing with the first run of product. Develops specialized tools to automate and ease assembly/test development. Develops and executes assembly/test strategy for new products including DFx analysis and feedback. Supports the transition of customer’s products to manufacturing and participates with peers to ensure successful handoffs. Excellent customer contact, negotiation and problem resolution skills. Good presentation, database management and computer skills. Strong knowledge of statistical process control methods and techniques. Ability to evaluate materials, gather and analyze data and determine root cause of problems. Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required. Typical Experience 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. Typical Education Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
