Mission of the Role The Pursuit Program Buyer is responsible for managing interface between program and suppliers, anticipating the specific requirements for programs on Pursuit phase (supplier technologies, geographical location, and target costs), ensuring the commodity panel strategy is appropriate to support the program, and pilot suppliers from the agreed supplier panel in order to achieve Program targets. Key Objectives of this Role Maximize profits for new business via a properly costed BOM and use to-be-gain expertise to challenge design assumptions as seen on other projects to help bring costs down. Deliver optimized costed BOM’s from a pricing and business improvements over the year (Year over Year savings) to help drive Visteon’s profitability and Material margin. Challenge, whenever possible and as experience is gained, design items on the BOM that might be too safe (Driving high costs) or propose alternative items with a better cost. Be able to explain the costs entered on the BOM to upper management individuals on review meetings, by being conscious of the data entered, where it comes from, what assumptions were taken and what actions have been taken to ensure it is the most competitive option. Key Performance Indicators BOM Efficiency: BOM Cost at 70% material content in comparison with Sales target price. BOM Integrity: 85% of the BOM's submitted must have 75% of its cost quoted and/or with actual prices. Ensure Year Over Year productivity is offered on every project for every part on the BOM. Comply with additional requirements with regards to the Supply Chain like Country of Origin, Rare Earth Metals content, etc. Key Year One Deliverables Finish initial training plan within the first 3 months. Start a project from scratch during the first 3 months and complete it. After the first 3 months, all assigned projects will be transferred and must be taken over. Qualification, Experience and Skills Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business. Minimum of 3 years of Procurement or supply chain experience. Advance Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups, macros) for analyzing data. TIER 1 Automotive experience preferable. Program Managements Skills. Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills. Participation in analysis and anticipation of supplier risks, strengths and weaknesses for new products launch.
